Knock-down boxes; lids and covers; corner joints; bands, strengthening.-A metal strip is bent to form two channels, one of which receives the edges of box ends 9, while the other receives the edges of the remaining box parts, being secured thereto by depressions or stampings made in the strip, or by nails, screws, &c. Portions are cut out of the strip, so that it can be bent round the corners of the box. The box may be fastened by wire passed through holes in lugs .on the binding-strips.
