Folding boxes; corner joints; straps, strengthening.-A box of cardboard or other material comprises sides 110, 112, a bottom 111, and a lid 113 consisting of separate pieces connected together along the edges by continuous troughshaped metal binding-strips 4 formed with flanges 6, which may be corrugated, as shown at 14, for strengthening purposes. The binding- strips are secured to the sides &c. by nailing, riveting, &c. The loose ends 8 are formed with grooves or recesses 9 along their edges, in which the flanges. 6 engage in setting-up the box. Specification 8854/08 is referred to.
