Abstract
115,602. Rae, J., and Watford Manufacturing Co. Dec. 20, 1917. Knock-down boxes; corner joints; lids and covers.-In boxes or cases of the kind described in Specification 114,595, the shallow walls or flanges a<4> at the ends of the bottom a are undercut, as shown at a<2>, to engage correspondinglyshaped parts of the end members a<3>, which are slid into position through the gaps a<1>. The lid has the shallow walls at each end and on one side only, the end walls being undercut to engage corresponding parts c<2> when the lid is slid into position, while the side wall of the lid, gapped as before, forms a stop; the edge of the lid opposite this side wall comes over a batten fixed to the outside of the corresponding side member of the box, and may be secured thereto by a cord or wire &c. passing through holes in the parts. The side members of the box engage, as before, in grooves b<2> in the end members. Although not so shown, the dimensions are such that, when the box is collapsed, the side and end members may, respectively, be placed side by side.
