Abstract

Collapsible wooden transport case, especially for motor vehicle bodywork parts, comprising a floor (10), two longitudinal side faces (14), two transverse side faces (12), a cover (16), and possible internal separators, characterised in that the case comprises first detachable connection means (18) interposed between the floor (10) and the transverse side faces (12), second detachable connection means (20) interposed between the transverse side faces (12) and the longitudinal side faces (14) and third detachable connection means (22) interposed between the cover (16) and the side faces (12, 14).

Description

The present invention relates to a wooden transport case, which can be dismantled, in particular for the transport of automobile body parts.

In the industry, many specific parts are manufactured centrally in one place while they are used in different places.

 I1 must therefore be transported, which is the case of auto body parts to cite an example.

This transport requires special precautions because it is necessary on the one hand that the parts are perfectly immobilized in this box and on the other hand that these parts are protected against shocks.

Also, these boxes are made of wood because this material is not too expensive, it absorbs shocks well and it can also be worked.

Products made of wood can be easily fitted out without investment in expensive molds, they can be recycled, but also treated ecologically after use.

However, in order to reduce costs, the boxes are reused several times before being recycled or destroyed.

A problem is posed by the size of these boxes because they must indeed be brought back to the place of manufacture.

However, these boxes, essentially large, have a large footprint even when empty, footprint which cannot be reduced.

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a box which is removable, the assembly and disassembly of which is carried out without any tool, these operations being very rapid, which allows good mobilization of the parts which it contains, which is economical in production and which has all the guarantees of impact resistance.

To this end, the present invention provides a removable wooden transport case, in particular for automobile body parts, comprising a floor, two longitudinal side faces and two transverse side faces as well as a cover, any internal separators and characterized in that it comprises first removable connection means interposed between the floor and the transverse lateral faces, second removable connection means interposed between the transverse and longitudinal side faces as well as third removable connection means interposed between the cover and the side faces.

The first removable connection means comprise, for each transverse lateral face, at least two immobilization housings each composed of a round hole extended by a groove with a width less than the diameter of this hole, the groove being oriented parallel to the transverse lateral face, these housings being formed on the lateral edge of the floor, in its thickness and designed to each receive a protruding lug and integral with the edge of the lower side of the corresponding transverse lateral face, this lug having a head intended to penetrate in the hole in the housing and a body with a diameter less than the width of the groove over a height corresponding to the thickness of the floor.

According to another characteristic, the floor includes a first cleat forming an abutment, of a length equal to that of this floor, this cleat being placed on the first longitudinal edge of the floor, perpendicular to the hole-groove direction of each housing and a second cleat, of a length equal to that of the floor, reduced by twice the thickness of each of the transverse lateral faces, this second cleat being placed centered on the second longitudinal side of the floor.

According to a particular embodiment of the invention, the housings include metallic inserts embedded in the floor, the lugs also being metallic.

The second removable connection means of the body according to the invention comprise, for each connection of two juxtaposed lateral faces, - a C-shaped angle iron with asymmetrical wings, the first wing being fixed on the upper part of the transverse lateral face, projecting over a length substantially equal to that of the thickness of each of the longitudinal side faces, the second wing being parallel to the corresponding longitudinal side face and the third wing, perpendicular to this same longitudinal side face, having a length less than the distance separating the second wing of the angle of this longitudinal side face, and - a vertical groove formed near each of the lateral edges of the longitudinal side face, this groove being designed to cooperate by sliding in the corresponding angle.

According to the preferred embodiment of the invention, the third connecting means interposed between the side faces and the cover comprise latches.

In addition, each side face and the cover comprise a ply of boards, oriented vertically for the side faces, fixed on a frame, the boards being arranged on the inside of the body.

According to another characteristic of the invention, the connections of the various elements making up the lateral faces and the cover are made using plates with multiple claws, nailed.

For good support of the parts, the separators include a vertical leg, a horizontal arm forming an angle with this leg, a stiffener interposed between this leg and this arm, as well as a metal angle, secured by one of its wings the upper face of the arm and designed to cooperate with the frame of one of the side faces, the leg resting on the floor and fitting into the corresponding side face.

According to a particular embodiment of this separator, the arm comprises at least one succession of partitions, in particular of cardboard, allowing the separation of the transported parts.

In order to better understand the invention, the transport case is now described according to a preferred, nonlimiting embodiment, with reference to the appended drawings which represent - FIG. 1, an exploded perspective view, simplified of the case according to the invention, - Figure 2, a partial sectional view of the second connecting means, - Figure 3, a side, partial elevation view of the second connecting means, - Figure 4, an isolated view of the insert of the first connecting means , and - Figure 5, a view of an embodiment of a separator provided for the boxes according to the invention.

FIG. 1 shows a box according to the invention which comprises a floor 10, two transverse lateral faces 12, two longitudinal lateral faces 14, as well as a cover 16.

The box also comprises first connecting means 18 interposed between the floor and the transverse faces, second connecting means 20 interposed between the longitudinal and transverse lateral faces as well as third connecting means 22 interposed between the lateral faces and the cover.

The floor comprises a set of boards and cleats assembled in a known manner to form a pallet having high mechanical strength and provided with housings at its lower part corresponding to the spacing of the forks of a handling trolley.

The particularity of this floor is due to its cleats 24, 26 forming abutments of the transverse lateral faces.

The cleat 24 is fixed on the upper face of the floor, parallel to the longitudinal edge. It has a length equal to that of the floor.

The cleat 26 is disposed on the opposite longitudinal edge.

Its length is equal to that of the floor, reduced by twice the thickness of a longitudinal face.

The first connection means 18 comprise, for each transverse face, two immobilization housings 28, composed of a round hole 30 and a groove 32 which extends it, as shown in FIG. 4 which more precisely represents the corresponding metallic insert 34.

This insert is fixed to the mounting of the boards making up the floor pallet.

The pallet is also provided with holes on its corresponding profile thickness.

The orientation of these housings is such that the hole-groove direction is parallel to the transverse edge and the direction along the arrow 36 from the cleat 26 towards the cleat 24.

The first connecting means 18 further comprise vertical lugs 38, carried by the transverse faces 12, and they are more particularly normal to the lower edge of each face.

These pins have a head with a diameter substantially equal to that of the hole 30 in the immobilization housing 28 and a cylindrical body with a diameter less than that of the groove 32, its length being greater than the thickness of the pallet at insert right 34, correspondent.

The transverse faces 12 also carry part of the second connecting means 20.

An angle iron 40 is fixed on the upper part of each end of each face.

This angle is shown in detail in Figures 2 and 3.

It has a C-shaped profile, the first wing 42 being fixed on the associated transverse face 12, the second wing 44 being parallel to the juxtaposed longitudinal side face and the third wing 46 being perpendicular to this same longitudinal side face.

This third wing 46 is designed to cooperate with a groove made in the thickness of the longitudinal side face 14.

For this purpose, the angle iron projects from the transverse lateral face which carries it thanks to an adequate length of the first wing 42.

The boards which are assembled on a frame to form the different faces are made integral with the frames in particular by nailing while the uprights of the frames are assembled by plates with multiple points of known type and commonly used in framework.

The assembly of the box according to the invention and which has just been described takes place in the manner indicated below.

The floor is placed on the ground, and the operator makes the pins of each transverse lateral face penetrate into the hole 30 of the immobilization housing 28 opposite.

It makes each side undergo a translation so that the body of the lug moves in the groove and comes into abutment.

Simultaneously, these lateral faces abut against the cleat 24.

The transverse faces being assembled, one proceeds to the assembly of the longitudinal faces.

The first longitudinal face is approached inclined so that the boards, oriented towards the inside of the box, are housed behind the corresponding cleat 24 or 26.

The upper part of the face is introduced simultaneously into the angles carried by the transverse faces.

We then proceed to fill the box if the size of the products justifies it before installing the second longitudinal face.

In the case where the products can be loaded from above, the second longitudinal face is mounted following the first.

The cover 16 is placed in a known manner on the top of the box and fixed by means of the third connecting means 22, in this case latches 48.

Disassembly is carried out by the reverse sequence of assembly steps.

The invention also provides a separator for the box according to the invention.

The planks that make up the side faces are spaced and this space is used to accommodate separators also removable without tools.

The separator is shown in Figure 5.

It includes a leg 50, a perpendicular arm 52 and a stiffener 54 interposed between this leg and this arm.

An angle iron 54 is provided to cooperate with the face on which the separator is attached.

A series of partitions 56 allow the separation of the parts, these partitions being studied according to the shape of the products. They are more particularly made of cardboard and attached to the wooden frame of the separator.

Claims (10)

 1. Wooden transport case, which can be dismantled, in particular for auto body parts, comprising a floor (10), two longitudinal side faces (14) and two transverse side faces (12) as well as a cover (16), optional internal separators, characterized in that the body comprises first means (18) of removable connection interposed between the floor (10) and the transverse side faces (12), second means (20) of removable connection interposed between the side faces transverse (12) and the longitudinal side faces (14) as well as third means (22) of removable connection interposed between the cover (16) and the side faces (12, 14).  2. Box according to claim 1, characterized in that the first means (18) of removable connection comprise, for each transverse lateral face, at least two housings (28) dtimmobilisation each composed of a round hole (30) extended by a groove (32) of a width less than the diameter of this hole, the groove being oriented parallel to the transverse lateral face, these housings being formed on the lateral edge of the floor (10), in its thickness and designed to receive each a lug (38) projecting and integral with the edge of the lower side of the corresponding transverse lateral face, this lug having a head intended to penetrate the hole in the housing and a body with a diameter less than the width of the groove on a height corresponding to the thickness of the floor.  3. Box according to claim 2, characterized in that the floor comprises a first cleat (24) forming a stop, of a length equal to that of this floor, this cleat being disposed on the first longitudinal edge of the floor, perpendicular to the direction hole-groove of each housing (28) and a second cleat (26), of a length equal to that of the floor reduced by twice the thickness of each of the transverse lateral faces, this second cleat being placed centered on the second longitudinal side of the floor.  4. Box according to any one of claims 2 or 3, characterized in that the housings (28) include inserts (34) metal embedded in the floor and in that the pins (38) are also metallic.  5. Box according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the second removable connection means (20) comprise, for each connection of two juxtaposed side faces,  - a C-shaped angle iron (40) with asymmetrical wings, the first wing (42) being fixed on the upper part of the transverse lateral face, projecting over a length substantially equal to that of the thickness of each of the longitudinal lateral faces, the second wing (44) being parallel to the corresponding longitudinal side face and the third wing (46), perpendicular to this same longitudinal side face, having a length less than the distance separating the second wing of the angle from this longitudinal side face , and  - A vertical groove formed near each of the side edges of the longitudinal side face, this groove being provided to cooperate by sliding in the corresponding angle.  6. Box according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the third connecting means (22) interposed between the side faces and the cover comprise latches (48).  7. Box according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that each lateral face (12, 14) and the cover (22) comprise a ply of boards oriented vertically for the lateral faces, fixed on a frame, the boards being arranged on the inside of the body.  8. Box according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the connections of the various elements making up the lateral faces and the cover are produced using multi-claw plates, nailed.  9. Box according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the separators comprise a vertical jamb (50), a horizontal arm (52) forming an angle with this jamb, a stiffener (54) interposed between this jamb and this arm, as well as a united metal angle, secured by one of its wings to the upper face of the arm and designed to cooperate with the frame of one of the lateral faces, the jamb resting on the floor and integrating into the corresponding side face.  10. Box according to claim 9, characterized in that the arm comprises at least one succession of partitions, in particular of cardboard, allowing the separation of the transported parts.
