Abstract

105,985. Chapman, I. May 5, 1916. Knock-down boxes; corner joints. - Sections 1 used for boxlike structures, such as packing-cases, are made of channel section, the right-angled flanges 2 being juxtaposed and embraced by a U-shaped covering-strip 3; or sections may have U- shaped flanges at one edge adapted to interlock with the right-angled flanges of juxtaposed sections. Displacement of the sections is prevented by tongues in one flange engaging slots in the other. The sections may be held together by bolts 7. Fig. 8, having spring washers 8, and grooves 9 to receive washers 10 of deformable material. Fig. 9 shows a suitable arrangement for connecting the sections at the corners.
