Abstract

7529. Lane, J. E. March 31. Joints, carpenters' &c. - A bolted joint for the framework of a wooden building, drying- machine, &c. consists of a dowel E. Fig. 1, a recess D, and a bolt H passing through both and engaging a cylindrical nut G. A corner joint, shown in Fig. 3, comprises two bolts, one having an eye K through which the other bolt passes. Fig. 6 shows a cross joint in which the stud-bolt M is first secured to the member C, and the member B is then pushed on and rotated to screw the nut G on the bolt. The joints are machine-made.
