Abstract

6336. Kraus, J., and Oppen, E. March 14, 1912, [Convention date]. Electrostatic separators.-The material is subjected to the attraction of an electrostatically permanently-charged surface acting through an air gap, and the attracted particles are removed by a movable dielectric. In the form shown, the material falls from a hopper a between two electrodes d, e, which are covered by moving dielectric bands p. The field may be produced by means of influence machines, by transforming high-tension currents, or by the friction of the dielectric body on the electrode. The Specification as open to inspection under Section 91 (3) (a) describes also a construction wherein the moving dielectric is in the form of a cylinder in which the electrode is placed; this subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
