Abstract
2748. Vignier, R. M. de. March 23, 1912, [Convention date]. Visual outdoor signals.-The movement of a signal to danger is indicated at a distant point by a circuit closed by a clockwork-driven switch released as the signal arm reaches its danger position. The signal is moved to ' clear ' by the hand-operated gear segment 46 and is released from a distant point. The rod 40 carries a roller 35 engaging a forked member 25 which has lugs 24 meeting pins 14 on a boss on the shaft of the clockwork mechanism. A pawl 15 holds the clockwork until it is lifted by a lug 24 as the signal reaches its danger position. When the signal is again set ' clear,' the lugs 24 engage the pins 14 and reset the clockwork. A stop 29 coacts with a lug 28 to determine the movement of the member 25.
