Abstract
2668. Crabtree, G. Feb. 1. Spindle-driving apparatus.-A weight d, used for passing the bands around the tin rollers of spinning-frames, is provided with a notch or a spring clip for holding the end of the band and is curved at both ends so that it may readily pass between the tin rollers and a guard, which is adjustably secured to the frame or to a bracket e and is formed with a flat top a and sloping sides b. When banding, a rod j is used provided with a hook j<1>, by which the weight is carried over the tin rollers, and a notch j<2>, by which the band is drawn to the front of the frame after the weight has carried it between the tin rollers and it has been placed in the notch by an operative at the farther side of the frame.
