Abstract

2200. Holtzman, A. L. June 10, 1912, [Convention date]. Handles with recessed-back retaining-devices for brushes.-Relates to toothbrushes of the kind in which the bristle-holding portion or stock is secured detachably in the handle, so that when worn out it may be replaced by a new one. The forward end of the handle A is formed with a slot B having an annular ledge C providing a seat for the stock D, which is retained in place by a back plate G fitting at the front under an overhang F on the handle and clamped at the back by a ring H sliding over its extension G' and fitting into a recess G<2> therein. A bent slip of paper I.is used to enclose the bristles E, as shown in Fig. 3, while fitting the stock into position.
