Abstract

Battery lamps.-In a hand-lamp in which the bulb b is carried by a reflector c surrounded by a casing d. the switch m is mounted on this casing, and comprises a stem r adapted to be pressed by a spring n to engage a contact i, its handle m resting in notches on a socket g. These are arranged in two pairs at right-angles, and one pair is deeper than the other so that the stem r engages the contact i or is raised from it according to whether the handle m rests in the deeper or the shallower notches. The contact i is clamped between insulating- rings h, k, and the socket g is secured in the casing d, by a screw-nut l on the lower end of the socket. The lower end of the stem r may engage between spring lips on the contact i, or it may be split and adapted to engage in an aperture in the contact i as shown in Fig. 8.
