Abstract
1478. Short, H. L., Short, A. E., and Short. H. O. Jan. 18. Floats for aerial machines comprising an inflatable air-container of flexible waterproof material attached to a rigid keel are provided with a number of hoops 5 to retain the contour of the container should the air leak. Each hoop 5 is supported by means of a number of loops 6 secured to the float 1 alternately on opposite sides of the hoop 5. Tubes 7 extend through the float 1 to take struts 8 secured to the lower plane 10 and to the keel 3 thereby supporting the float. The keel may be provided with one or more hydro vanes 15.
