Abstract

1408. Krupp Akt.-Ges.; F. Oct. 8, 1912, [Convention date]. Recoil apparatus. - Relates to dismemberable guns, such as mountain guns, having trail spades which can be secured in operative or transport position, and consists in pivoting the spade on a transverse bolt near the end of the trail, so that when the spade is turned over upon the top of the trail for transport, the centre of gravity of the spade lies in the vicinity of the centre of the rearcarriage. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the carriage is in two parts A, B bolted together. The spade C has a pair of arms c<1> carried by a bolt D turning in eyes b<1> on each side of the rear part B. The spade may be locked in either the operative position (shown in full lines) or the transport position (shown in dotted lines) in any suitable manner. The centre of gravity of the spade in the transport position is near the middle of the rear part B of the carriage.
