Abstract

1079. Shark Grip Tiling Co., and White, T. Jan. 14. Glass tiles; facing-tiles.-The back surfaces of glass or other tiles are roughened by applying a thick coating of hot bituminous cement, levelling the coating by means of a board provided with distance-pieces, and then sprinkling with heated marble or other chips. The tiles are preferably warmed slightly before the application of the cement. A suitable cement consists of 25 per cent of bitumen, 25 per cent of pitch, and 50 per cent of a stiffening- material such as coke breeze or ashes.
