20,767. Beaurain, H. J. Oct. 2. Facing-tiles.-Glass facing-tiles for walls are cleaned by means of fine white chalk and are then backed on the cleaned surface with one or more coatings of cold enamel, oil colour, ripolin, or similar material of the required colour, each coating being allowed to dry for about forty-eight hours before the next coating is applied. Pitch, asphaltum, or similar substance melting at a low temperature, and fine cinder waste, are sprinkled over the last coating by means of a sieve, and the glass plate is gradually heated to a temperature between 50‹ C. and 80‹ C, so as to melt the pitch or like substance without changing the colour of the enamel or other backing.
