Jackets and covers.- In tyre covers having a restraining-fabric comprising one or more layers of transverse or nearly transverse cords A, " rolling " is prevented by a band C, some or all the threads or wires of which are oblique, which is arranged at the tread inside the restraining- cords and extends only part of the way down the sides of the cover. The band C may comprise woven fabric cut on the bias or fabric consisting of threads or wires arranged side by side in one plane. The band may comprise both threads and wires and may be in contact with, or separated by rubber from, the restraining-cords. The fabric D<1> of the beads may be extended up the sides of the cover, but not as far as the edges of the band C.
