Jackets and covers tread projections.-A cover for a pneumatic tyre is provided with a circumferential rib 22 at each side of the tread portion, and the part of the tyre between the ribs is concave and provided with transverse or V-shaped ribs 23 connected by circumferential ribs 24 which are concave in the circumferential direction. The cover has annular shoulders 29, preferably reinforced by strips 21, which bear on the edges of the wheel rim. The sides of the' cover are stated to tend to become straight under load. The ribs 22 may have transverse grooves 25, which are preferably in staggered relation.
