Abstract

191,296. Simonett, A., and Simonett, H., (trading as Simonett, A. & H.). Jan. 28, 1922. Guards,controlling for fabric-shearing and other machines having cylindrical cutters. The guard G is mounted on a spindle G<1>, which is carried in brackets B' from the machine frame B and has secured to it a disc D with a cut-away portion D<1> engaging a disc C associated with the cutter shaft A, so that the guard is locked in its protective position while the shaft is revolving. The disc C is free on the shaft A, but is pressed by a spring C<2> and carries a pin C<3> engaging one of a series of holes A<=> in a disc A<1> fast on the shaft. The guard is released by sliding the, disc C against its spring, the shaft A being locked after raising the guard by turning this disc to bring a cut-away portion C' opposite the disc D and re-engaging the pin C<3> in another of the holes A<2>. The parts C, A<1> may be otherwise interconnected.
