Abstract

28,772. Rosenberg, P. Dec. 13. Battery lamps for miners. A cylindrical case g containing the battery has a rim k provided with a number of slots for the passage of corresponding pins on a cover a carrying the lamp, recesses being also provided in the rim to receive a steel locking-lever i pivoted to a block i<1> fixed inside the cover. The lever is arranged beneath a soldered-up hole l in the cover, and can be raised by a magnet after opening the hole. The sides of the cover are inclined at about 45 degrees to the horizontal to minimize obstruction of the light. The battery terminals c abut against two contacts c<1>, mounted in an insulating-disk b<2>, which supports a globe b<3>, and is fixed in a sleeve c<2> inside the cover. A protecting-cage surrounds the globe.
