Pencil and like holders.-In an eraser-holder of the type in which a sliding-member carrying the eraser is contained in a casing and adapted to be fed forward by regular amounts as the eraser is used, the sliding member d, Fig. 1, is provided with bent spring flanges e for gripping the eraser, with upturned flanges k which act as guides, and with teeth or shoulders h which are adapted to engage a rack c, Fig. 3, on the casing a. The eraser f, which is preferably tapered on all sides, is projected in the manner known in connexion with holders for pencils by the operation of a spring tongue i, which protrudes through a longitudinal slot in the casing and, when depressed, releases the teeth or shoulders h from engagement with the rack c.
