Steam-generator and like furnaces; grates; air, supplying.-A furnace for burning refuse from wood-working and coal, coke, &c., either separately or together, and adapted for use with a steamboiler or for other purposes consists of a bricklined chamber containing a grate having an horizontal part A and an inclined part B, the ash-pit below being correspondingly divided into two separate parts having its own air-supply door, namely K, H, and the space above the grate forming a combustion chamber. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 3321/80.
