Abstract
958. Lochner, E. Jan. 12. Steam-generator furnaces; grates; stoking.- In a furnace for steam-generators &c., fuel from the hoppers a gravitates automatically down inclined conduits b, at the sides of the furnace, and, after turning through an angle of 90 degrees, is fed to the rear of an inclined grate c, behind the flat ash-grate d. Gases arising from preliminary distillation in the conduits are burnt in the flue f. The ashes &c. pass into the grate d and are removed through the door e.
