Abstract

26,683. Griffin, E. F., and Higgs, W. E. Nov. 20. Punching.-A lever lid e, Fig. 5, is stamped from the centre of a metal blank, Fig. 3, and the remaining outer ring b is flanged and used to secure a paper or other cover d, Fig. 5, for the lever lid. In a modification, the edge f<1>, Fig. 7, of the outer ring is first turned down in the stamping as shown and, after the part e is removed, is raised again. This operation causes the edge f<1> to overlap the cover e as seen in Fig. 10. The edge f<1> may be cut away at h for the insertion of a removing-tool.
