Folding seats.-A folding chair for use in road vehicles especially motor-cars &c. comprises a seat a having a folding back and supported on a knucklejointed standard d so that it may be folded down as shown in Fig. 2. The lower member e of the joint has dogs g adapted to engage notches i formed in a flange m of a supporting-plate k. The parts of the clutch are forced into contact by a spring h which surrounds a bolt f carrying the part e and passing through the plate k. The chair may be turned after lifting it to disengage the clutch so as to face in different directions.
