25,615. Hellin, V., and Hellin, C. Nov. 8. Rotary stirrers.-In apparatus for stirring jams, preserves, confectionery, &c. during boiling, the spindle J, which is rotated by bevelgear H, I, a shaft G and handle Q, is made adjustable vertically to enable the stirrers X, X' to work on the bottom of the pan. The adjustment is effected by a spring O or by a set-screw V, Fig. 4. The apparatus is fixed to the pan by a cross-bar A with adjustable clamps D, D<1>. The handle Q is made telescopic in the shaft G so that it can be extended to protect the operator from splashes. The shaft G may be driven by power instead of by hand.
