Breech actions, sliding breech-block.-Consists in giving the initial opening impulse to a toggle link action by means of an inertia weight acting on the middle joint, or on one of the links. In the construction shown in Fig. 1, the inertia weight consists of a slide d having at the front an inclined surface d' which acts on the hinge c. In a modification, the inertia weight is arranged as a pendulum.
