Attaching to velocipedes.-For mounting an umbrella upon a tricycle, a vertical cross-member a is secured to the frame immediately in front of the rider's seat, and its upper end is fitted with, or forms, a socket to receive a spindle upon the stick of the umbrella, a thumbscrew serving to hold the spindle against movement. The vertical member is fixed to the tricycle franie o by a bracket d with holes d', the whole being held against movement by tightening a stud or bolt d<2>. A set-screw or the like d<3> may be used to secure the bracket to the member a. The lower end of the cross-member is pivoted or otherwise secured to the frame.
