Abstract

29,065. Price, J. D. Dec. 14. Luggage-carriers.-A rigid luggage-carrier A, of quadrilateral or pentagonal shape and adapted to fill more or less completely the frame of a bicycle, is secured to the frame by means of a spring plunger c<2>. The carrier is made preferably of aluminium, and is provided with a lid extending over a part or the whole of the top or side of the carrier. The part of the carrier adjacent to the seat tube is grooved or provided with semicylindrical members a<1> adapted to engage the seat tube, and the front of the carrier is provided with a socket a<5> which is held between a fixed stud c<1> and the spring plunger c<2> carried by the head of the cycle. One or more of the sides of the carrier may be provided with a rubber or other pad D adapted to bear against an adjacent tube of the cycle. An extension a' may be secured to one side of the carrier in order that an umbrella or the like may be carried on the top of the carrier between the extension and top tube of the cycle.
