Water-tube boilers. - Relates to boilers consisting of a single upper drum connected by tubes to two lower drums arranged one on each side of the grate. According to the inven tion, a superheater 20 is fitted in the space between the generating-tubes 1 and the feedheating tubes 2, which are arranged at a distance from the boiler casing a so as to leave a flue space b, and are connected above to the drum 3 and below to a chamber 8 formed in the drum 4 by a partition. The gases pass transversely across the tubes from the fire-box to the flue b. The superheater tubes, which are of U-shape, are arranged parallel to the upper and lower drums and are connected to a header, which is provided with removable end covers and with internal partitions dividing the nest of tubes into groups in series. Fig. 9 shows a form of header consisting of a curved tubeplate 30 and a curved cover-plate 31. This cover-plate carries a longitudinal partition 24<a> and one or more transverse partitions.
