Lids and covers. - Circular, rectangular, or other cans, tins, &c. for food-stufts, blacking, tobacco, &c. are provided with indentations 1, 4 in the rims of the body and lid respectively, to receive the tips of the thumbs. Ribs 7, 8 are formed at the outer extremities of these indentations and are milled or roughened to afford a grip.
