Abstract
19,333. Neumann, J. Aug. 23. Water, supplying to cylinder.-The invention relates to engines having devices for supplying water to the cylinders of the type in which a piston or the like actuated by the pressure of the explosions is adapted to operate a valve controlling the admission of water, and consists in introducing water into the scavenging and charging air of two-stroke-cycle engines of this type. A pipe 24 leads from the combustion chamber to the underside of a piston in the casing f, the piston of which is connected by a lever 51 to a piston valve in the casing controlling the water supply. The water is delivered to the airpassage 6 leading from the crank-chamber. The water rests on the piston-wall, and is blown in by the air. A glass sight-hole 38 shows the actual delivery of the water.
