Abstract

19,168. Neuhaus, G. Aug. 21. Winding, rolling. - A carpet is supported during cleaning operations on two parallel rollers carried on a collapsible frame. The frame comprises roller-carrying end members 5 connected by cross-bars and pivoted to base members 1, 2 hinged at 4. Struts 7 maintain the end members in the upright position. The carpet is secured to each roller by means of clamping-bars 13 and is transferred from one roller to the other by means of crank-handles 12. Brakes comprising flat springs 16 adjusted by screws 15 to bear against the ends of the rollers, retard the winding operation. The portion of the carpet between the rollers is subjected to the cleaning operation.
