Abstract

18,574. Huntington, A. K., and Preston, W. R. Aug. 13. Stays.-Boiler stays are made of copper-zinc alloys of the series in which elongation increases with increasing percentages of zinc, as described in Specification 14,314/11, [Class 82 (i), Metals, Extracting &c.]. An example alloy contains copper 55À5 per cent, zinc 40 per cent, aluminium 2 per cent, manganese 2 per cent, and iron 0À5 per cent. The stays are riveted at 400‹ F.
