Abstract

18,130. Cain, C. W. Aug. 6. Trouser presses.-The upper and lower boards 1, 2 of a trouser press are connected by loops 6, 9 of wire laid in slots 5, 7 formed underneath the lower board. Longitudinal ribs 3 on the board 2 hold the loops in the slots, and other ribs 4 on the board 1 have stepped teeth 10 at one end for engagement with the loop 6. The loop 9, which passes wholly under the lower hoard, engages at its ends with eccentric pins 11 on a cam lever 13, by means of which pressure is applied. The trousers, after they have been held at one end by the loop 6, are stretched by hand and pressed. A plate spring 14 is interposed between the loop 9 and the lower board.
