Abstract

18,035. Beckert, R. W. Aug. 3. Folding mangles; pressure arrangements for.-In a combined mangle and table, the mangle is pivoted at m to the table frame and can be rotated so as to lie beneath the table top. The table consists of two parts c, d, the part c being hinged to the table frame, and the part d being hinged to a slide e, Fig. 3, capable of longitudinal movement and normally pressed inwards by a spring p. This arrangement permits the mangle to be gripped between the parts of the table as shown in Fig. 2. Beneath the table top is pivoted a lazy-tongs f, Fig. 2, the ends of which engage in recesses in the table frame and so lock the table when the mangle is in the folded position. The tongs are operated by the drawer g. The rollers of the mangle are pressed together by levers k and springs l.
