Abstract

16,115. Phillips, W. July 10. Overlap joints with screwed spigot or socket and with valves. - A device for facilitating repairs to valves comprises a coupling b into which the tail piece k of the valve is screwed, and which in turn is adapted to be screwed into a reducing-socket a. The end of the coupling is closed, and a hole c is drilled through the screwed portion adapted to be placed opposite a solid portion of the socket a when it is desired to shut off the supply. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 15,645/84 and 22,841/07.
