15,021. Chisholm, D., and Chisholm, A. June 27. Pictures &c., hanging on walls.-Pictures are attached to walls by members c fixed to the picture frame a and to rods d on the wall. The rods d, which may be suspended from a moulding g<1>, are hollow and are provided with circular holes in front and elongated slots at the back through which are passed bosses c<1> and heads c<4> formed on the members c, Fig. 7. The members c are then rotated to lock them in position. Within each of the rods d is a bar d' having keyhole slots through which pass flat portions c<5> on the members c. By pulling the bar d' downwards by means of a projection d<8>, the narrow parts of the keyhole slots engage the flats c<5> on the members c, thus preventing them from being rotated and withdrawn. The bar d' can be locked by a hinged flap e which engages over a projection d' on the bar d<3>. The flap e is secured by a lock h. The other end of each member c is formed with a neck c<1> and a flat portion c<2>. The neck c<1> enters a socket b' on a plate b hinged to a plate b<4> fixed to the picture frame, while the flat part c<2> enters an opening in the plate b. Stops may be provided on the plate b to prevent the member c from being rotated through more than a right-angle. In a modification, the rods d are arranged horizontally, being secured at each end in sockets fixed to the wall. One socket has a removable cover-plate to allow the rod to be inserted, the cover-plate being secured by a vertical bar with suitable locking-means.
