Transporting boats across ship's deck; chocks. -Relates to boat gear of the kind in which the boats are mounted on chock carriages Q provided with rollers which run on athwartship rails A. A trip-piece F having a weighted part G is arranged across the rails. The chocks are free to move outboard until they have passed the trip, whereupon the trip rises and prevents the chocks from taking charge. The chocks are also provided with buffers J, which engage with stops I on the deck. The bilge-pieces P of the chocks are hinged so that the chocks can be opened out flat to facilitate storage. The chocks are locked to the rail when required by a pin passing through a lug N. A section C of the rail may be hinged so as to facilitate cross traffic.
