Bayonet joints; couplings, disconnectible.- Bayonet joints for pipes and tubes with rotating locking sleeves have spring-pressed pins to hold the sleeves in the locking position. Pins b, entering bayonet slots c in the socket and engaging by rotation in the usual way, engage slots in the locking sleeve, which is thereby rotated so that the slots in the sleeve are moved out of register with the entrance to the slots c. In this position the sleeve is held against rotation by a spring-pressed shouldered pin k entering the enlarged part of a slot h in the sleeve. To uncouple, the pin is depressed so that the part of reduced diameter may enter the narrow part of the slot h.
