Trollies for runways. - In a blast - furnace charging apparatus of the kind in which a bucket or skip containing a charge is suspended from a trolly or traveller running on an inclined track, oscillations of the bucket are prevented by a coupling-device either of invariable length or of a length which adjusts itself to the inclination of the track. In one form, Fig. 1, suitable for apparatus in which the gradient is constant, the rod d carrying the bucket e is coupled to a framework f on the trolly a by a rod g, which is engaged with the eye i by hand or automatically at the lower end of the track and disengaged by a stop at the upper end. In the form shown in Fig. 2, for use where the gradient varies, oscillations are prevented by a weight or spring-loaded lever c having notches 1, 2, 3 to engage with a projection e on the cover d of the bucket h. As the gradient of the track varies, the projection e engages with one or other of the notches 1, 2, 3.
