Abstract

7088. Hess, J. April 20, 1911, [Convention date]. Furs and furriery.-In a machine for cutting a fleece of fur from a skin, a shearing-knife s, which co-operates with a fixed knife x, is suspended from rotating eccentrics u, which impart to it an oscillatory cutting-stroke. The skin is passed over the blade x by a pair of rollers which press back the fur on that part of the skin passing over the blade, so that only the roots are brought beneath the knife s. The detached strips of skin and the roots fall into a receptacle, and the line of severed fur passes on with the fleece to conveying-belts or the like.
