Abstract

3515. Deport, A. J. March 7, 1911, [Convention date]. Field carriages; loading-appliances.-Relates tn elevating-gear and loading-appiances for guns which have a fixed loading elevation. The invention consists (a) in providing a clamp I, Fig. 2, whereby the gun-cradle N is, at will, connected to, or disconnected from, the elevating - gear sector F, so that the gun may be quickly moved from the firing to the loading position, and vice versa; and (b) in pivoting a guide K for a projectile carrier L, to one of the trail beams B. The pivot J is inclined. as shown in Fig. 4, so that the guide, when swung aside, will assume the position shown in dotted lines, ready to receive another projectile. The guide K is curved, and in the loading position is concentric with the training- pivot of the gun.
