Rate, changing.-A meter has two counting- trains which are put into gear with the meter by the operation of a hand switch controlling the current supply to different circuits. As shown, an armature h carrying a wheel putting one of the two trains d, e into gear with the meter, is actuated by an electro-magnet f, the winding of which is in parallel with a power circuit b, the electro-magnet being energized only when the switch g closes the power circuit. In the other position of the switch g, lamps a are connected in circuit, and the armature h is released so as to throw the train e into gear.
