Abstract

191,135. Matthews, E. Oct. 4. 1921. Belt fastenings.-A V-belt fastening comprises a detachable H-shaped middle link a and end members each of which comprises top and bottom plates or branches c<2>, c<3> connected by a cylindrical boss c<4> having an end wall c<5> of substantially semi-cylindrical formation as shown. The end walls c<5> are formed with slots c<6> through which the heads of the H-link are passed, the right hand member providing for easy detachment whilst in the left hand member, the belt end fits close up to the. T-head to hold the middle link securely to the end member. The H-shaped middle link may be cut from a blank of fairly thick steel subsequently rounded up by pressure. The upper branch c<2> is wider than the lower branch c<3>.
