Liquids, purifying.-For use in water-purifying, aluminium sulphate containing iron, prepared from sulphuric acid free from arsenic, is treated with an oxidizing-agent to convert the iron into the ferric condition. The oxidation may be effected by heating the raw material, such as clay, to a suitable temperature, or during the action of the arsenic-free sulphuric acid on the raw material, or during the evaporation of the solution. Specifications 900/65, [Class 1, Acids, alkalies, &c.], and 18,598/92 are referred to.
