Abstract
2695. Bra³nlich, F. Feb. 1. Sulphuric acid is recovered from waste acid containing organic impurities, for example as obtained in the petroleum and coal-tar industries, by treating the acid by molten acid alkali sulphates heated to a temperature above the boiling-point of sulphuric acid. In some cases, a catalyst such as copper sulphate may be added to increase the oxidizing action of the molten sulphate. The process can be used with the acid that has been diluted with water in a preliminary purification.
