Fixing by dovetail members.-The detachable cutting-edges C of axe blades, chisels, &c., provided with dovetail ribs B to engage in corresponding slots in the heads A are locked in position by bolts D, D<1> maintained in engagement with recesses F by means of screws E, E<1> formed with a long shank and threaded a short distance only from the point. Spring catches may be substituted in place of the bolts, and any suitable known means may be provided for engaging and disengaging the same.
