Abstract

28,497. Lucas, W. Dec. 18. Spigot-and-socket joints held by cement.-An annular recess, into which cement 4 is run, is formed by a groove inside the socket, registering with a groove on the end of the spigot formed by two annular collars 5. The pouring- hole 8 is of sufficient length to allow the air to escape during the pouring operation, or a separate vent hole may be provided. The cement joint is stated to be suitable for metal pipes. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 19,716/03 and 18,446/07.
