Ladders.-Tripod stepladders for gardening and other purposes are constructed with the steps c projecting beyond the sides, which may be extended at the upper ends to form hand - rails. The back legs are retained in the closed position by guides i on one of the steps, and are provided with hooked arms to engage wall or other surfaces, or to support baskets &c. The lower ends of the ladders are provided with metal disks j to prevent sinking into soft ground.
