Abstract

450,334. Loft-ladders. CLEMENTS, A. A., 9, Chandos Crescent, Edgware, Middlesex. March 8, 1935, No. 7234. [Class 20 (ii)] A loft ladder of the type formed of sliding sections, the upper section sliding on the trap door of the loft, has a sliding bolt e provided on the upper section b adapted to engage the lower section a to lock the sections together during the raising and lowering of the trap door. The upper section is provided with a head rail h which supports the ladder in the extended position and prevents disengagement of the ladder sections. A fillet g is provided in the door aperture to prevent dust from falling as the door is closed. The lower ladder section may be connected to a rope passing over a pulley in the loft and connected to a counterweight. An eye k is provided to receive a hooked rod whereby the trap is lowered.
